Andy is an associate of the Firm and a member of the Litigation
Practice Group. His practice focuses on the resolution of disputes
involving trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and general claims
of unfair competition. Andy also has significant experience with
matters involving commercial real estate, including real estate
services. Andy has also represented clients in alternative dispute
resolution settings, most recently obtaining an $800,000 award
following a five-day hearing before an arbitrator. Representative
industries Andy has served include apparel, manufacturing and distribution,
real estate and construction, and software and e-commerce.
Andy
is admitted to practice before all California courts, including
the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the
United States District Court for the Eastern, Northern, Central,
and Southern Districts of California. He is a member of the Orange
County Bar Association.
After serving three years in the Army’s
82nd Airborne Division, Andy received his B.A. cum laude in political
science and history from the University of Washington in 1998,
graduating Phi Beta Kappa. He received his J.D. with great distinction
from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in 2001,
graduating near the top of his class and as a member of the Order
of the Coif. While at Pacific McGeorge, Andy authored "Mystery
of the Ages: Applying Fair Use in Light of the Purposes of Copyright
in Worldwide Church of God v. Philadelphia Church of God, Inc.," published
in the McGeorge Law Review. He also served as Assistant Comment
Editor of The Transnational Lawyer.
