Sally
S. Costanzo is an associate of the Firm. Sally practices in the
Labor & Employment Law Practice Group. She is experienced in
both employment litigation and employment transactional matters.
Sally represents employers and management in connection with a wide
variety of employment and labor relations matters, ranging from
wrongful termination and employment discrimination to preventative
counseling and advice. Her practice includes the drafting and implementation
of employee handbooks and workplace policies such as sexual harassment,
drug and alcohol testing, leaves of absence, and discipline/termination.
Sallys litigation experience includes handling cases in both
state and federal courts. She also represents management in mediations,
arbitrations, government audits, and investigations into various
compliance issues. These include wage/hour matters before the U.S.
Department of Labor and the California Labor Commissioner, allegations
of employment discrimination filed with the U.S. Equal Employment
Opportunity Commission and the California Department of Fair Employment
and Housing, and section 132a discrimination petitions filed with
the Workers Compensation Appeals Board.
Sally received a B.A. in Pyschology from the University of California
at Santa Cruz in 1980 with Highest Honors and College Honors and
her J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 1994 where she was on the Editorial
Board of the Law Review and received the American Jurisprudence
Award in Constitutional Law. In addition, Sally has a Ph.D. in Social
Psychology from the University of California at Santa Cruz where
she conducted extensive research on the jury decision-making process.
She has published four articles in academic journals on this topic.
Sally is a member of the California bar and admitted to practice
before a number of federal courts.
